WO2 Jimmy ‘Manny’ Mercer

It is with deep regret that I am informing you of the death of WO2 Jimmy ‘Manny’ Mercer who passed away peacefully on Monday 26^th January, in Forth Valley Royal Hospital.

Jimmy had served from the early-60’s until the early-80’s and on discharge settled in Berwick, where he got a job at Torness Power Station. After retirement he would regularly come into The Barracks and help out in the Regimental Museum. In later years he developed dementia and his family moved him to a care home in Falkirk, where he was near his son. He was a regular supporter on the annual Minden Parade and of the Berwick Branch and he will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
