Frank Coutts spent many years campaigning for the Scottish regiments and doing charitable work. Angered by the government’s decision to cut four infantry regiments at a time when more troops were on overseas engagements than ever before in peacetime, Frank lent his full support to the campaign to Save Our Scottish Regiments.

Initially, this was successful and the KOSB were spared but the government’s wish to amalgamate historic regiments eventually prevailed and the Royal Regiment of Scotland was formed.
