John Coode – Obituary

5 January 2017

Gentlemen,

It is with deep regret that I inform you of the death of Mr John Coode who sadly passed away on Saturday 31st December 2016 aged 91. John served with 1 KOSB from D Day +1 1944 – 1947, being wounded once in Normandy and again in Germany. John was recognised for his participation in the liberation of France by the award of the Legion d’Honneur which was presented by the French Military Attaché at the Victory Services Club on the Saturday of the Remembrance weekend in 2015.

A long standing member of the KOSB Association, both John and his wife Nicola have been loyal supporters of the Association, particularly the London Branch for many years and attended the KOSB centenary pilgrimage to Loos, France in 2015. On behalf of its members, the KOSB Association has extended its sincere condolences and sympathy to Nicola and John’s wider family at this very difficult time.

Funeral arrangements will be notified when available.

“Once a Borderer, Always a Borderer”.

Peter.
