John Crawford – Funeral Arrangements

Borderers,

We are now able to announce the funeral arrangements of John (Choppy) Crawford who died on Saturday the 3rd of February aged 80 years. John was a true Borderer, veteran of Malaya, stalwart supporter of ‘Borderers at the Cenotaph’ and passionate about his rugby. John was a 1KOSB XV team member throughout 1957 and 1958 and played in the team that won the Malaya Cup in 1957. He played for Melrose.

His funeral service will be held at Melrose Parish Church, over looking ‘The Greenyards’ on Wednesday, February 14, at 12.30 pm, followed by interment at Wairds Cemetery, at 2 pm, to which all Borderers are respectfully invited. Family flowers only please, but donations, if desired, will be received on retiring from service for Cancer Research and the Macmillan Centre, Borders General Hospital.
