BORDERERS CHRONICLE 2019
Can all Borderers start preparing any articles for The Chronicle now and submit them to the EXO at Berwick. Articles need to be in a word document, photos should be full size and have names and captions of what is happening. Historical articles are very welcome, what were you and your Platoon doing 20, 25, 30, 40, 50 etc years ago? Articles are not limited to the big events, training exercise’s in UK and overseas, adventure training, sporting competitions as well as Operational tours all contributed to the history of our Regiment.
Some possible events:
40 years since the Bn tour in Belfast
30 years since the Bn tour in Fermanagh (Derryard Action)
50 years since the Bn was in Libya
30 years since Bn left Berlin
30 years since Tercentenary
55 years since the Bn left Aden
55 years since Bn deployed to the Radfan
20 years since the Bn arrived in Cyprus
Don’t worry about layout etc the EXO will edit all articles before publishing.
The cut-off date for articles is 30 Nov 2019.

THOMAS HANDLEY – NOTIFICATION
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of THOMAS BURNS HANDLEY. Tam as he was known to all served with the TA in Dumfries and the 1st Bn in NI during the 80s and 90s as a Rifleman.
Funeral will be held at the Crichton Memorial Church Dumfries on 23 August at 1130 followed by a burial at High Cemetery Craig’s Road. Family flowers only please, donations to the team in Ward 21 of the Freeman Hospital Newcastle.
