KOSB REGIMENTAL MUSEUM

2 March 2018

Borderers,

YOUR MUSEUM NEEDS YOU….

The KOSB Regimental Museum has an excellent team of both paid staff and volunteers who possess a wide range of skills, knowledge and expertise. Throughout the year, the team perform tasks that are part of the day-to-day running of the Museum and help to ensure that we continue to provide a fully accredited and recognised world class visitor experience. The Museum is extremely fortunate to have a dedicated and keen group of volunteers with a wide variety of skills. However, to increase the capacity of the Museum, particularly over the summer opening period, we are now looking for enthusiastic, passionate and reliable individuals to join our Volunteer Pool to assist with the smooth running of the Museum and its continuing development.

The Regimental Museum will be open between 10am to 5pm from 30 March to 30 September inclusive and from 10am to 4pm from Wednesday to Sunday throughout October. While permanent staff will be available to open the Museum to visitors on weekdays, we are seeking volunteers to assist with staffing the Museum at weekends. Responsibilities will include opening and closing the Museum, greeting visitors, providing advice and guidance on exhibits where appropriate and generally ensuring that our Collection is kept save and secure. For health and safety purposes, it is recommended that two individuals are present on any given day. A full familiarisation briefing will be provided and volunteers will be entitled to claim reasonable travel expenses to and from Berwick.

We would welcome expressions of interest from individuals wishing to become a Museum Volunteer from all Association Members, family or friends with a connection to the Regiment or individuals with an interest in preserving and celebrating our military history and heritage. To register your interest please email secretary@kosb.co.uk with your name, contact details and an indication of your availability at weekends during April to October. If possible, please also provide details of an individual who would be able to volunteer with you.

Thank you in anticipation of your assistance with this important task. Without a vibrant and proactive Volunteer Pool our Regimental Museum may struggle to survive.
