Minden Day Evening Function – Saturday 29th July 2017 Berwick Rangers Football Club (New venue)

Fellow Borderers,
I would like to give all members an update for the Minden Evening Function 2017.
Committee
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all Committee members for their hard work and efforts for making 2016 a fantastic event because without these guys the event just wouldn’t take place. Thank you also to Arthur Neil, Paddy Hiddleston and Brian Trotter, who assist every year with the raffle tickets.

We are desperately seeking new committee members to join us in order to make 2017, and beyond, as successful as the past has been. However it should be noted that both Thomas Ross and I, will be stepping down post 2017 function, so please spread the word within the Borderers Community as we need replacements. If you are interested then please make contact, my details are below.

Date and Venue
The evening function will be held on Saturday 29th July 2017 at a new venue: Berwick Rangers Football Club (Black and Gold club)– situated in Berwick.

Dress Code
We want you to feel comfortable on the night but would also ask that you please dress appropriately. NO JEANS OR T-SHIRTS.

Tickets
Tickets are now on sale, priced £20 per person.
Ticket prices have remained the same for the last 2 years, which is great value for money. Tickets will come again in the form of an e-mail confirmation from Thomas Ross, which will have to be printed out or taken with you via your smart phone from the e-mail you receive. Each email will have a unique number which will be checked against the member’s name on arrival. Members who are bringing guests are asked to arrive at the venue with them if possible.
Please retain your unique number for proof of payment as it contains details relating to you and your guests.
Tickets are NON REFUNDABLE, (unless we can find a replacement to purchase them).

Association Membership
You must be a member of the KOSB association in order to attend the function (unless you are a guest). Contact HHQ soonest to get your association card, if you do not already have one.

Transport
Transport will be provided and is included in the cost of your ticket, with one pick up to the venue and one drop off back in the Town centre.
• Outgoing Journey – Transport will leave from the Town Hall at 1900hrs sharp.
• Return Journey – Transport will leave the function at 0100hrs.
Please note: There is only one transport run this year. A taxi from Berwick to the venue will cost you approximately £4.

Disabled Access
The Berwick Rangers Football Club is disable friendly with proper amenities and facilities.

Seating Plan
The tables at the venue are round and there will be 10 to each table. Details of the seating plan will be on show for you to check on your arrival. We will do our utmost to accommodate you with whom you would like to sit with. Please indicate who you would like to be seated with if you have a preference. There will be no guarantees but we try our very best, once everyone is seated as the night progresses please feel free to move around as you require.
We will be limiting this year’s function to 120 guests. This number will allow a lot more space and comfort. Extra seating will not be extended.
Program and Timings
A programme of events will be on each table and we ask that you are seated promptly so that the evening can commence. Entertainment will take the form of a Disco supplied by the brilliant “DJ Guss” who has been used at our previous events.

Buffet
There will be hot/cold buffet available with a variety of choices. Members will be invited by table numbers to collect their buffet.

Raffle
There will be a raffle on the night with a major prize up for grabs, all raffle tickets will be available on the night at a cost of £1 per strip.

Main Hall Bar & Lounge Bar
There is a large bar in the main hall area and an additional bar and seating area next door. An area will be designated for smokers (outside). Please dispose of your cigarette ends in the receptacles provided.

Late Licence
Late Licence has been granted until 1.00am. Last orders 12.45am. Please drink up at the stated times and vacate the premises when asked to do so.

Health & Safety
A Health & Safety briefing will be give at the beginning of the evening by a member of the Committee. For security and fire evacuation measures we will ask you to show your association membership card on the evening….thanks for your cooperation.

KOSB Association
Please be aware that we need you to support our HHQ and ask that those who are attending the function (if you have not already done so) take out membership. Details of how to do this can be obtained from the HHQ website or HHQ Berwick.
The function committee and all those involved with organising the Minden Day celebrations, hope you all have a great time and. If you are attending the evening function, please be sensible in the amount of alcohol you drink prior to the function as we do not want you to miss out on what will be another splendid evening.

If you do not have your unique reference number, please do not turn up at the venue as you being asked to leave the premises. (This would offend us as much as it would you). We look forward to seeing you at Berwick.

KOSB Golf Meeting
The golf meeting will take place on Friday 28th July at the Magdalene Fields Golf Club. Please direct all enquiries for this event through the organiser.

Additional Information
I very much look forward to seeing you all there this year for what will be another fantastic night. I would personally like to thank all Association Members for your loyalty and support of the function over the past 7 years. Without you, there is no function!
