“OUR” Battlefield Piper

Borderers,

Evan Finnegan, fine Borderer and grand piper has just completed his epic challenge to cycle and run from Edinburgh Castle esplanade to the Somme battlefield.  Evan cycled from Edinburgh to Dover, ran from Calais to Peronne Road Cemetery in Maricourt and arrived on 9th July – 100 years to the day when Pte James Farr KOSB was killed on the Somme. 800 plus miles on his bike, 100 plus miles on his feet and arrived as planned to play at the graveside of James Farr KOSB.
