Private William Lennox – Notification

Borderers,

It is with deep regret that we inform you of the death of Private William Lennox who sadly died on Thursday 17th August 2017 aged 94 in Croydon, London.

William, originally from Dumfries served during the Second World War with the 4th (Border) Battalion, King’s Own Scottish Borderers, 52nd Lowland Division. In 1944 he took part in the assault on Walcheren Island in the Netherlands.

On behalf of its members, the King’s Own Scottish Borderers Association has extended its sincere condolences and sympathy to William’s Grandson Billy and wider family members at this particularly difficult time.

Funeral details have been notified as Tuesday 5th September 2017, Croydon Crematorium (East Chapel), Mitcham Road, Croydon CR9 3AT, at 10.30 am

Refreshments will be served after the service at The Royal British Legion Hayes (Kent) Club, 14 Station Hill, Hayes, Bromley, Kent BR2 7DJ
