Sgt Charles Whitehead Bateman – Notification

Borderers,

It is with deep regret that we inform you of the death of Sgt Charles Whitehead Bateman who sadly passed away on Saturday 26th August 2017 in the William Simpson Home in Plean, Stirling aged 86.

 

Charles served with the 1st Battalion, King’s Own Scottish Borderers in Malaya, Aden, Ireland, Singapore and Berlin and became the Sergeant Weapons Instructor to the Sultan of Muscat’s Army before retiring after a 22 year career within the military.

On behalf of its members, the King’s Own Scottish Borderers Association has extended its sincere condolences and sympathy to Charles’ nieces Margaret and Evelyn at this particularly difficult time.

Funeral details have been notified as follows:

Date: Wednesday 13th September 2017

Location: Falkirk Crematorium, Dorrator Road, Falkirk FK2 7YJ

Time: 3.15 pm
