VE DAY FRI 8th MAY 2020
Borderers, due to the current pandemic situation planned events to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of VE Day have been cancelled to ensure the safety of us all. This however, should not stop us remembering the thousands of Borderers who served in WW2 to secure peace and freedom across Europe.
Events are still proceeding nationally in the digital space, these should be recorded for national posterity. Where possible and above all safe to do so all Borderers are encouraged to wear Regimental tie and Glengarry and parade as follows.
1100- National 2 minute silence
1115-1200-RBL Livestream
1500- National toast to all who served during WW2
1505- Pipers across the country will play “Battle’s o’er”
2000-2110- The peoples celebration BBC1
Borderers should parade in their houses, back gardens or outside their front doors, get your other household members involved, and please adhere to the current Government rules.
Please take photos and upload them onto the Association FB page and send them to RHQ in Berwick for publication on the Regimental website.
