MAJOR ALAN MOORE CAMERON

it is with great sadness that we notify of the passing of MAJOR ALAN MOORE CAMERON on Friday 6th May 2022.

Alan joined the Army as a Jock serving in the Black Watch in 1946 before commissioning into the Borderers in 1948. He would serve as a Platoon Commander and Company second in Command during the Korean War, various posts would follow including Commanding Alpha Company in Aden 1962 and Charlie Company in Sarawak 1966. His final post would be Training Major at the Infantry Junior Leaders Battalion Shorncliffe in 1976.

After retiring Alan remained a stalwart supporter of the Regiment and was a regular attender at Minden, Remembrance in London and all Officers Club events, most recently at Kelso Races in March of this year.
