MAJOR JOHN AITKIN MBE TD

It is with great sadness that we notify you of the death of Major John Aitkin MBE TD on July 16th 2024.

Major Aitkin did his National Service in the Regiment and commanded a platoon in Malaya during the latter part of our service there. He later served with 4 KOSB TA and was awarded the Territorial Decoration.

He trained as a chartered accountant and spent much of his free time on Royal British Legion affairs. He was made Honorary Treasurer of the Royal British Legion Scotland, served as a KOSB Regimental Trustee, and was awarded the MBE.
