Borderers, it is with great sadness that we notify of the passing of WARRANT OFFICER CLASS 1 WALTER MURDOCH on 27 Nov 2020 aged 101.

Wattie as he was affectionately known served with the 1st and 6th Bns during WW2 and was evacuated from Dunkirk. The last of our Borderers who served pre war as a regular soldier, Wattie served the Regiment in many ways including RSM 4th Bn and the Depot.

Wattie is to be repatriated from Australia to be interred in the family plot in Lockerbie, details will be published when known.
