WARRANT OFFICER CLASS 1 GEORGE SMYTH

Borderers, it is with great sadness that we notify you of the passing of WARRANT OFFICER CLASS 1 GEORGE SMYTH on Saturday 9th January 2021 aged 92yrs.
George served with the 1st BN in Palestine, Korea and Malaya mostly in the orderly room, many will remember him as the ORQMS in Berlin, Edinburgh and Aden. George retired from the Army as WO1 Superintendent Clerk at York in 1969.
A proud Borderer to the end, George was an active member of the Berwick Branch.
