WARRANT OFFICER CLASS 2 ROBERT CHARTERS

Borderers, it is with great sadness that we notify you of the passing of WARRANT OFFICER CLASS 2 ROBERT CHARTERS on Sunday 9th August 2020.

Bob served with the 1st Bn from the late 1960s until the 1980s in C Coy however most of his service was with the Golden Lions parachute display team where he was known throughout the Scottish Division. He was part of the team that won the gold medal at the 1980 World Parachute 8 way canopy championships. Bob was awarded the BEM in 1989 when he was Chief Instructor at the Joint Parachute Centre in Cyprus, he was also the Chief Instructor at the Rhine Army Parachute Centre.
