THE FUNERAL OF SERGEANT BILL SPEAKMAN VC –  THURSDAY 19TH JULY, COORD INSTR

Timings. All attendees to be seated in the Wren Chapel, Royal Hospital, by 1330. Service starts 1400.

Dress. Suit or Blazer and Trews, Regimental tie, Glengarry and medals. The wearing of medals is optional.

Format. Service in the Chapel. After which KOSB Association members will form a Guard of Honour from the North Door of the Chapel to the waiting hearse, under the direction of Major Ken Fraser.

Participation. Maj Gen TP Toyne Sewell is representing  HRH The Prince of Wales. PM Willie Cochrane and BSM Ron Creasey will play and the Bearer Party is furnished by 1SCOTS. There is no other formal participation by the Association in the service.

Refreshments. Will follow the service, in the RHC In-Pensioners’ Club.

Directions. Royal Hospital Chelsea, Royal Hospital Road, London, SW3 4SR. Nearest Tube station is Sloane Square (District and Circle Lines) about a 5-10 minute walk. Nearest overground station in Victoria.
