LCpl Roger Weatherhead
Borderers,
I regret to have to announce that LCpl Roger Weatherhead passed away on Monday 16th June, in the Borders General Hospital. He was 80.
Roger joined the Battalion in January 1962. He had served in C Company, and played rugby for the Battalion. He will be remembered as serving, latterly, in the Regimental Police Staff before leaving the Army in December 1973.
He settled back in Kelso and worked as a lorry driver. He leaves a wife, Evelyn, and a daughter, Karen.
There will be a funeral Service at 1130 on Friday 18 July in Kelso Old & Sprouston Parish Church, The Butts, Kelso, TD5 7DH, followed by interment at 1230 in Rosebank Cemetery, Shedden Park Road, Kelso, TD5 7PX (on A698 Kelso to Coldstream Road). Afterwards, refreshments will be available at Kelso Golf Club, Golf Course Road, Kelso, TD5 7SL.
It is hoped that there will be a good attendance and Borderers are asked to wear Regimental tie, Glengarry and medals.
