Swedish Home Guard Band of Guldsmedshyttan to Play at MINDEN 2016

HOME GUARD BAND OF GULDSMEDSHYTTAN, SWEDEN

Originally established as the Guldsmedshyttans Marching Band in 1900, the Home Guard Band of Guldsmedshyttan was raised in 1983 as a part of the 20^th (Sannaheds) Home Guard battalion. The Band appears primarily as a concert and parade band which provides music for Swedish military and state functions as well as public performances throughout the year. The Band currently consist of both active Home Guard members and a few veterans. Since its formation, the band has toured extensively and in recent years it has visited Denmark, Norway, Germany and now Berwick-Upon-Tweed.
