SIGNAL PLATOON REUNION – UPDATE No 3

Since my last update, I can report that 19 have positively replied to the function, it still could be better. It is a good possibility that there are a good few that do not/will not access social media as is their choice. I would request that if and when anyone is in contact with these guys that you might pass on this information.

My good friend Gerry Walker has secured the use of an 18 bed (bunks) hostel in Gorgie which is a 5 minute ride by taxi and for this reason I think it is more advantageous to have the function at the Scots Guards Club in Haymarket.

It will cost £60 for the hire of the hall and depending on the numbers approx. £10 for buffet (TBC).

The booking of a bunk will need to come through me as the owner is specifically opening it up for this function alone and is asking £30 per bunk which is far cheaper than anywhere else.

The hostel has all the amenities including parking (and is above a pub).

I have contacted a few members that live the furthest and are contactable and have used 4 bunks. The other 14 are open to all but must be booked soon so that I can contact the owner as he normally closes the hostel in October over winter.
