Borderers,
I would like to announce the publication of my fourth book on the history of our beloved Regiment the King’s Own Scottish Borderers. The title and subject of this new book is, “The King’s Own Scottish Borderers Regimental Booklet, illustrating the Regiments Linear Timeline over 317-year service to the Crown”.
What does that mean? In essence the book is a timeline in detail from the 18th March 1689 to 23rd June 2006, covering the movements of the 1st and 2nd Battalions over four centuries, year by year, in some case month by month, highlighting specific dates, which are historically significant to or recorded in the Regiments History,
This has been achieved through researching historical records and published accounts, on condition that the information is common knowledge and authenticated; also, by cross checking written records and historical facts held in our Regimental archive.
Using a informal process and abiding by self-imposed protocol of accuracy, I have chronicled each year, the Regiments location and its movements in a consistent set our sequence; in each year its whereabouts, how it got there, movements once there, what was its purpose in being there, in addition, affirming mainly by visual inserts, into the specific annotated timeline year or month.
This insert may be of a historical event or major release of new equipment or items that affected the Regiment as a whole, or certain ranks, such as, a new weapon, headdress, cap badge, dress, or an Army Order.
The book in A4 soft cover format, comprised of 154 pages excluding the front and back covers, with 142 illustrations, some of which have never been seen before.
The price for a copy of this Limited First Edition Book is £20.00p excluding postage. I have acquired two postal rates for UK only:
a. First Class Next day delivery, tracked and signed for is £11.95p.
b. Normal Post and signed for is £3.95p.
